Just a request with NSE

Post by ajax103 »

Having seen that NSE 47 that should be available soon on the UKTS site, I was wondering if there would be any Mk2/Mk3 coaches available to go with it ie like the E Rail ones where, they have the First Class, Restaurant/Buffet, Standard Class and Standard Brake with a decent tail light on the back.

I' know there's Mk2a's and Mk1's but any help on the formation of these would also be good.

iirc someone said there would not be any further skins of the e rail mk.2's due to them upgrading the model again adn they dont want new skins for an outdated model IIRC

Yes, but what formation are they used in?

If there was a thread somewhere explaining the formations used, it would be helpful.

Glad to hear E Rail is upgrading their model.

your best bet if you want to look at formations, is to go onto a photo site like http://www.brlocos.com and search for NSE locos or locos in NSE liveries or the like, your bound to turn up something

Formations were anything at all, i think, with some First, some Standard and sometimes a micro buffet in the set.

Not sure where you got that from but that is not true. The Mk2Fs were built as a Mk2F project (mainly for the Blue Pullman) and no further work will be carried out on them to make them into other Mk2 sub-classes as we have other projects on the go. The NSE coaches you describe should be Mk2B/C coaches and so are different to the Mk2Fs, meaning a simple repaint is not an option.

Well, there was actually a MK2F or E (my memory aint that good) FO painted in NSE coulors as a test. It was hardly ever used and languished around the back of Old Oak Common until 2003, i think, when it moved to a private site in Yorkshire

Ther definately was a NSE MK2 F or E and indded there were Stagecoach MK2Fs, just not to sure of the running details. It would have been no real use at all regarding that all of NSEs stock wasnt ETS enabled :fadein:

Air Con Mk2's
Only two aircon Mk2s received NSE, as far as I can tell. The 1989 Platform 5 Coaching Stock book lists the following with "N" livery:

Mk2D TSO 5525
Mk2D FK 13573

MK2D found above.

No MK2f's made it into NSE the MK2d's im assuming were the London Padd-Hereford mobs when the 50's ruled the roost.
