FSX - Loads Into Flight
Just received FSX for Xmas and only really got into it today, mainly optimising graphics for my 4 year old PC. Still much to do and check but one item that's a bit irritating is every time I start FSX, it loads an active flight rather than going straight to the menu. This wastes valuable time which could be used setting up my own flight. I've looked at the options but can't see any way to disable this feature - can anyone tell me if there is a means of switching it off?

Don't think it is - it only did it with me on the first ever boot up as an introduction, and it wasn't controllable.
I think there is an option to enable/disable this - bear in mind the options layouts have been changed, so the setting may not be where you might expect it.

You know you're a pilot when you drive off a cliff, and your last words are "Gear up!"

Well I saved a new default flight so it now loads into this when the sim starts instead, but there should still be an option to switch this off and simply have the main menu open up. I'll have to ferret around a bit more.
Guess FSX compared to FS9 is like a new pair of shoes - a painful breaking in process. While the new CRJ isn't bad, I miss my collection of add-ons from FS9 but with a landing at LAX down to 6.5 FPS on relatively modest settings (and what's the point of turning so much off it looks like an Amiga game?) I think any new releases from PMDG, LDS or Captain Sim would bring it to its knees!
