USATC 0-6-0T 'Yankee Tanks'

Post by pyromaniacy »

Just wondering, does anyone know of, or equally have, a model of the USATC 0-6-0T 'Yankee Tanks'? Recently the Project 62 group have bought one into the UK with views to converting it to a Disabled Access Tank and they are also running one, 30075, on the East Somerset Railway.

cheers

I think this has been asked several times before, and so far there is only one in the KESR pack.

You could always have a go at making one yourself - see the threads pinned to the top of this section :)

With a great big green tarpaulin over it?

Project 62's first engine was '30075', and this next one will be '30076'. Though if you ask me they should keep it in it's Bosnian guise...

For once I agree with you  We have quite enough BR-liveried engines on our heritage railways already, and the red-lined Jugoslavian livery is more colourful than plain BR black.

How about putting it in NCB condition- some worked for them and it'd be something different and stisfy those who prefer British guises for all locos.

Oh yea just to say that 30075/76 are not real yankee tanks they are Yugo copies of the locomotives.

Just remebered i helped in the Restoration of 30075 but i moved just before it was officly put into service, but i did get a ride on it when it doubled headed with 5637
