Slight Ground texture realigning

The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

Slight Ground texture realigning

I'm currently photo-texturing a route as can be seen above; however, as you can see the edges of the textures I'm using don't match up.

Route editor only moves the textures by a whole block; and as you can see the texture only needs to move about 1/4 of one tile.

Mosaic will move the texture; but it acts weirdly, making the section which has been moved from the top appear at the bottom of the square. Is there a way in which to move all of these tiles at once?

Mosaic should allow you to move entire sections without changing the orientation or values used in the tiles (except error bias) - simply copy and paste (Shift-click the area, Ctrl + C, and then Shift-click the new section and Ctrl + V).

The odd cropping is not Mosaic, but MSTS for some unknow reason it takes about 10% from the top and right edge ( I think ? ) and pastes them on the bottom and left, thats why all tiles have to have common edges.

l'd quite often draw a hedge line across one corner and then find it appear in another corner, you can see this happen in RE when you use the pencil tool, just squiggle a line across texture biundries and you'll soon see what l mean.

Very annoying for accurate texture mapping l must say.

You can elliminate the bleed edge of terrain textures by altering the Texture "U" and "V" parameters, as well as the Scale X and Scale Y. for 512 x 512 textures, allow for 32 pixels all the way around the texture, and then add the following entries:

Texture U Parameter: 0.0625
Texture V Parameter: 0.0625

Scale X: 0.875
Scale Y: 0.875

This basically gives a 448 x 448 useable area on the texture to work from, and gets rid of the annoying edge bleed from the opposite end of the texture. :)

Hi Mark I have this problem (Color bleeding at the edges resulting in slight loss of consistency) with some Australian textures that I am producing with mosaic.
I see that you have a answer but Im sorry that a lot of it went right over my head.
Where do I enter these figures??
Cheers to all I hope xmas has been good for you.

Ed,

You will find those properties under the Object tab when a sub-tile is selected. Something that I have yet to experiment with as I have enough trouble creating the textures
