That's quite amusing. A diesel gala mainly on weekdays, with kettles on the weekend.

It's probably done from the number of complains ive certainly had one or 2 this week.

A diesel gala is a diesel gala, but people stil turn up expecting a kettle on the boil, or generally people expect 7802 to be available since its claim to fame in the move Narnia. Originally it was just people turning up for steam on a diesel gala. So thats why a kettle's on the Bridgnorth turn on a saturday and sunday.

So some bright spark in the offices decided to add a thursday to the list giving 50/50 2 days of diesel's with a kettle and 2 days solid diesel.

Hopefully 1062 will be running. but for those who want to ride on 37906 it wil be available on the gala all being well. And if they stick to there current speed and rumours have it she'll be on the 10:45 diesel diagram most saturday's during the summer.

Sunday isn't part of the event - its a normal working day, which in my mind is quite ludicrous.

I'd rather support lines with totally Diesel Galas, such as the ELR, KWVR and NYMR, than those like the SVR and GCR (?) that insist on running steam.

Should run a diesel on a Steam Gala, for those of us expecting a diesel, eh? 8)

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of anything that runs on railways - if anything I do prefer steam to diesel. I think it's just downright wrong to be running a steam engine on a diesel gala.

If the public come expecting steam, they should read the damn timetable! It's their own fault if they come and theres no steam running!

they got rid of that 'steam only' director that came in so i guess they are trying to win back the hearts and minds of those disilusioned diesel fans of this year. unforgivable to not have a single diesel gala.

1 return working for the advertised year round steam first class diner that a diesel can't easily work because we have no steam heat diesels.
