Bachmann's Digital sound EWS 66

Post by colinjamesporter »

Has anyone else managed to get hold of one of these yet? I think its great picked mine up at Warley yesterday after seeing the demonstraition on their stand. Highly recommendended model sounds fantastic just like the real thing. All thats missing now is the clag as it starts up :P . The recommended retail price from Bachmann is £157.90 but they are generally going from model shops for about £125.
cheers colin

Answer me this please, does it require DCC? Or will it work off standard DC track (which would be very impressive).

As far as I know the DCC Chip Fitted locos produced by Bachmann and Hornby will run on DC systems but locos won't have the sound as this is part of the DCC system.

What the eck is the point of a sound unit in a 66?
Surely sound units should be for locos that make a sound?!
