London South Coast anyone?

Post by depman2004 »

Looked at the website and see that it is avaliable to pre order on the 25th november, and on general sale on the 1st december.
I for one have been looking forward to this one as it is my local line and know it inside out.
Im looking forward to making activities for it too.

Anyone else getting it?

Not sure yet if I will be buying it as I already have London to Brighton + the addon pack, also Brighton - Portsmouth.

Seems just another way of geting extra money out of people who have the other two routes, like they did with ECE, they released part 1 and then within a few weeks released part 2.

I'm not sure what the new stock is, I think there are just 3 items?

I believe that there are are more than three, i've seen pictures on their site with Slam Door Stock (421s?), 170s, 377s and 319s (more than one livery)

I would buy this for four reasons:
1. It saves me uploading the other routes
2. Its got more detail and a new line
3. I enjoy making activities in this area
4. I live locally to this line

Thanks, I already have L2B & B2P so i cant see what is gained by getting them again?? also total activities on L2B + Add Pack +B2P is 65 on LSC they say only 21 ?? so is it worth another £24.99 ??

joins the two routes together plus another line and 3 new units. One odd fact they say 3 new models and they say 319, 377, 960 however thier cover shows a 171 can they actualy show this if its not included, as i see no mention of a 171 in the text.

I think on this occasion I am going to wait until it's out before I decide. I've got both of the separate routes and want to see what I am shelling out for before I buy it.

For instance more pictures wouldn't hurt, I want to see not just the new part of the route but more shots of the improvements around the existing route. As someone who spends a lot of time on the coast, WCW was extremely disappointing in terms of the scenery along the route and this area I hope has been improved.

Hi , Would n't it be nice if EB said that all people who have both routes and send the CDs back would be entitled to a 50% discount on the new combined route, You can only ask. :-?

Ron - I vaguely recall the EB team mentioning something like that on their forums before closure. Perhaps wait and see what they offer on release?

Dan

I think there are likely to be pros and cons to getting this route. On the one hand, the scenery, particularly on the Portsmouth route, was very poorly done in my opinion, and my understanding is that both routes are getting a well-needed upgrade in this area. On the other hand, linking both routes together is certain to alter the track databse and render the old paths redundant - meaning that the wealth of activitties already written for these routes probably won't work with the combined new route.

I think I'll await some reviews first... 8)

Cheers
Ashley

Ashley is right that its extremely unlikely that any activities written for the original routes will work on the new version. It'll be back to scratch again. EB may well take some of the old ones and redo them for the new release though.

I might buy it. The original LBE was brilliant and i thought WCW was good too, albeit the scenery was a bit lacking in some areas. Its an attractive proposition to have both combined with the MidSussex line as one route. But i wont be rushing out to get it on day 1.
