Replacement Camera Views

Can anyone tell me, is this download of Replacement Camera Views for use with activities or just for making screen shots??

Yes it effects both.
A screenshot is literally that....a frozen shot of the screen that someone was looking at.
(Unless they edit it afterwards).
Always backup the 'camcfg.dat' file first.

Art. You could say they do both really. After all, screenshots are just snapshots of what you see when you run an activity.
There are many different camhacks out there. The latest one released is from Richard222

They are simple to install and more importantly, simple to uninstall if you do not like them. You just go into the main MSTS global folder and find a file called camcfg.dat Now I would recomend making a copy of this and sticking it somewhere safe, or just renaming it so that it stays in the folder, especially as you might be trying several different files. Now put the new camcfg in it's place and away you go.
Changes that are available, taking my camhack as an example are
An improved #2 view that rotates around the lead loco. The same applies to the #3 view rotating around the rear.
The #4 spotter cam now has a more zoomed in effect.
The #6 coupling cam is at eye level. Just as a shunter walking alongside would see it. This also rotates using the mouse to give an allround view. (try this view looking forwards as you are racing along, it's spectacular!)
Finally #7, which works in most yards now allows you, using the arrows and the mouse to litterally fly, Superman style, around the route. I've used this before now to set my train off and, keeping an eye on the track monitor, flown way ahead to watch it go by, then flown off again and again.
To be honest, once you,ve found the file you like you will never go back to the default settings ever again.

Should be as the Bin patch only allows 500m panning. Nothing really different. I've downloaded Richard222's camhack and you still have a panoramic view. The new spotter cam is very good and you can still move it around.

Art to back up a file or folder, hold your mouse pointer over the file or folder you want to back up, then right click then you will get a menu box show up hightlight copy then left click on your mouse, then locate a location on your pc where you want to save the file then right click on your mouse select paste then left click on your mouse, good luck

Yes. I have tested mine on the msbin 1.5 and the 1.6 versions with no problems. The bin patch changes nothing except the ability to go out to 500m on the #2 & #3 views.

I can confirm my one works with Bin Patch v6. I haven't personally tested on V5 and below but I have had no problems with the 200 odd downloads so far

You could just rename the original Camcfg.dat file to camcfgorig.dat and then install the new one and still leave it in the Trainsimulator/Global File

Art. Renaming it works just fine. That way you always know where it is. I backed mine up as well though. A bit belt n braces I suppose but it made me feel better.
