Pete,

Just count the number of downloads and compare it with the number of complaints and I think you'll find your work is greatly appreciated and the silent majority outweigh the niggling minority.

Keep up the good work.

Peter - you have a PM.

Please consider carefully before deleting uploads. They can be put back but the hassle factor is not worth it. Your activity I downloaded tonight looked OK to me - just the sort of thing I like - a blast at full power and then some yellows and reds to keep me awake.

Kindest regards

Hi Pete, Nit pickers and Rivet counters luckily are in the Minority, They usually only pull other peoples works because they cannot do it them selfs. Nobody is asking them to download your activities and loads of members enjoy them and look forward to the new ones that you turn out.
So Me old pal, Ignore them, Leave them to count the nits and pick the rivets if thats what keeps them Happy. :)

My advice to you, igonore them. I get it all the time, doesn't bother me, cos I don't really see anyone else (and especiallly the nit picker) doing anything better. Usually if its something big I will fix it though. Maybe im just too nice. :P

Absolutely Pete - im with the rest here. Ignore the nit pickers and complainants, they are vastly outweighed by others who appreciate your work. Dont go down the road of withdrawing your activities, why penalise the great majority because of a small few.

I occasionally get an e mail from people who say such and such stock is wrong for the line / time period. I just reply that i dont know anything about railways, if its on the CD its fair game, and remind them they can always delete it or change it if they want. They are vastly outweighed by those who have written saying they enjoy my activities and that, at the end of the day, is all i need/want/hope for.

Dont let them get to you. Just keep on doing what YOU enjoy and sharing your work with others who share your enjoyment. The others dont matter a hoot. Ignore them.

Hi Pete,

Laurie has summed up my feelings here word for word.

Keep up the good work. I suspect that many folk don't appreciate just how much goes into creating activities. How much trial and error, problems with permissions for models, and general frustrations with AE are involved. There's also the fact that often, despite the hundreds of models that are available there often isn't THE rivet countingly totally prototypical one out there. Perhaps it's a generation thing? When I was a kid there was such a shortage of any sort of toy's that we had to suspend disbelief and use our imagination. Perhaps that's why the 60's had such an explosion of creativity?

BTW great to see your activities on TS.com too.

John once again I thank you for your kind words , but the straw that broke the camels back was nitpicking about something I could not control I do not need all this hassle .
And you will still have access to my work @ http://www.train-sim.com
I have shelved the UKTS launch of two activities That I uploaded to That site last night for Ballyshannon , that only leaves two of a new series's I was starting Real Trains in Scotland I will allow these to be uploaded because I have started Topic Threads on activity creation forum.
But more than likely they will be my UKTS Swan song

If anybody wants to download my stuff I would advise you to do it Now
Once again Thanks for all the kind words
Regards & Best Wishes

I Should Just add that If everything in these forums were policed with same degree of parody of esteem ,I would not be taking this action.

I mean what is the greater crime Posting in BLOCK CAPS or BOLD surely not as bad as knocking someones creativity & work which in some case maybe took 60 hours to put together
Regards & Best Wishes

Pete,

Do you like a drink ?, whiskey, brandy ?, l'm having a nice apricot brandy with ice and lemonade right now ( by my body clock its 02:00 after a night shift so dont fret l'm not one for the bottle as soon as l get up LOL ), its a nice way to relax and unwind :), everyone else has already said enough on how to deal with these characters, all of them are wise words, it would be a shame to loose another talented developer, for what ever reasons.

To answer your question, l dont think you can bulk delete files l'm afraid. l did once delete all mine from UKTS and after a period of reflection l realised it was a mistake, you are giving into a loud vocal minority.

My only advice would be to turn off MSTS, turn off UKTS and get away for a short break and spend some time with some one you cherish, nothing, not even our beloved MSTS is worth all this aggravation.

Kindest

to answer your question pete; you can 'bulk' delete stuff using and FTP program. if you access your atomic systems account, you can upload/delete/modify in bulk or in singular sections.

But i know your not going to like this now.... Why bother deleting them? If the nit pickers and those kind of people cant be bothered to sort out the problem themselves that has nothing todo with you, then they are getting what they want. If they keep finding the smallest of faults with your stuff, tell them to fix it themselves. Because as said, they arent doing anything anywhere as near as good as you are pete!! When and If you decide to delete them, think carefully before you do so. Some people who want them and dont have premium may not have them ect and are waiting to download. And then if people really like you activity and they reforamt their Hard drive or something, they cant get them again. I know you say they are on train-sim.com, but not everyone, like me!, has accounts over there.

Just have a long and hard think before you decide to do anything so drastic.

Hi Pete,

Please don't take any notice of the rivet counters they are out to make mischief, I have always appreciated the effort you have put into your activities.

I hope we all the, silent majority can persuade you to carry on with your activities and continue to put them on ukts.

They always are a pleasure to run and are varied and interesting.

Keep well and I hope every thing went ok at the clinic the other day

Pete,

DON'T DO IT!

Be strong and ignore the ungrateful idiots!

I have already made it clear elswhere that Rivet Counters will be totally ignored as far as MideastPlus is concerned. Using an old computing phrase,

WYSIWYG.
