Hi Folks,
Couple of quickies...
Is it possible to switch off display of all texturing so that you can see the objects as if untextured briefly? This would make optimising objects that have lots of transparent faces significantly easier! (alternative obviously is to strip all the textures and then re-apply but that seems rather a long way around).
I seem to recall there's a simple way to take a single face and create a back-side to it, can someone remind me?
Thanks!
Matt.

I'm not sure how you'd "untexture" the model unless you had a blank texture ready to go in which case you might "Swap Textures" using that plug in. I haven't tried it but I can see how it might be useful. Using Swap File would retain the texture map.
As to double siding a surface there's an add-on for that as well. Just select the surfaces that you want to double side and run the add-on. Initially the opposite side will be the same as the original side but you can texture the new surfaces whatever way you want - separate from the original surfaces.

Try the different object view modes from the top dropdown toolbar. Wireframe can be useful.
And I think there's a plug-in that allows a face to be made double-sided..I haven't wanted to do this so I haven't tried it.
I'll have a look when I get home this evening and update this thread if I find anything extra...

There is no way to turn off all the textures, then back on again. (one for the suggestion box)
My swap textures plugin has an option to remove all textures.
I also wrote the Double Sided plugin as well, and converted it to an operation (button) for 6.5
(A very useful function - use it all the time
)
The plugins & operations for the new 6.6.5 are nearly ready, though some need a bit more of an update.
