Suggestions

Post by Karsini »

First of all, just wanted to say that I love 1.6, everything's working nicely and I'm having fun. :) I have a few suggestions, don't know if either of these are possible but I thought I'd mention them anyway:

Would it be possible to implement the ability to start and stop the engine?

Would it be possible to implement a cab view for a wagon? An ideal use would be a DVT, at present a DVT needs to be implemented as a locomotive.

No not without the relevent sms files.

No, it means driving either in reverse or using the front coupler above 50 mph which i find makes an engine use more fuel or not go much faster.

The drivable DVT's are unpowered as such i dont think a cvf folder can be implimented into a wag file.

I converted the un-powered rear *.wag file of an articulated Italian E-Loco by changing it to an *.eng file, giving it all the "Engine" throttle and brakes parameters of the lead car, changed it's entry in the *.con file to Engine and the rear cab view and all it's controls worked !

Can be done, but is a lot of work if you got many trainsets with "wagons" at their rear ! :(

Hi
Starting and stopping an engine would be excellent, I'm assuming you mean special effects here, as sounds already exist.
Twin pantos on electrics would be good too, and working wipers.
However I believe George is currently looking at the manual gearbox fault.
His work up to now is excellent.
Cheers

Enabling the spotter cam (button '4') to show the entire train (instead of the first few) would be a nice addition to MSTSbin.

Yes what a genius fix the view 4 to the back of the train rather than the front.

It's easy to make the spotter cam view the whole train.

You need one of the fixes to give you full control.

Then use the arrow keys to move the cam back as it comes toward you until the cam pivots in the middle of the train.

At the next pass zoom the camera out till you include the front of the train and it will then show the full train.

Hi

I've been following this thread with some interest: http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?t=59674, and wondered whether the next version of the patch (assuming there is to be one) could look at the old problem of the MSTS "white-out" bug? It's annoying and still crops up on routes such as NWE (just re-released).

Think I'll put up a post on George's site but just wanted to test the water here first?

Cheers

What about passing signals at red not causing the activities to end.

Yea thats a brilliant idea. In real life that does not happen, so why should it on MSTS.

Having to start a 3hour activity again with no save points drives you up the wall. :(

Cheers
