Reverse Point Problem

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

Reverse Point Problem

Post by sreeju444 »

We know that we have to put two reverse points on the loop line for making AI overtake Player train and vice versa. This is working fine. The only point is that, we have to move the train to the reverse direction from the first reverse point and then stop & move forward at the second reverse point. Then we will get the CLEAR signal.

But at this time, I dont like to move the train in reverse direction but I need two near reverse points. Can I make the signal "CLEAR" without reversing the train?

cheers

if you place the double reverse point a bit further away from the signal on the loop so that the train has to pass both before stopping to let the AI pass, the signal should change to clear once the AI srvice has passed and is clear. You will need to make sure the AI train follows very closely behind the player train as, if MSTS doesnt see it as you pass the double reverse point, it will clear the path ahead for the player.

You may need to experiment with placing and timing to achieve the desired result but it is possible.

....And use the loco brakes when under 5 mph rather than the train brake's this enables the MSTS shuffle without having to slam the loco in reverse.
