Class 390 Pendolino

The SMS sound system in MSTS 1 has been quite well understood for some time, but there are still new things being learned as well as a wealth of information about what's already known that you can learn here.

Carl,
I got the networker sound-set and just used that. Only i changed the horns so that it has the same as a Voyager.

Hope this helps

My Pendo's run with Pro Train 7 Ice3 sounds, but with the horn swapped for a UK one. Copying the eng/ wag file sms settings from the ICE has given the different motor coaches their own sounds. Aint perfect but sounds good!

They do with me i find. I dont think there is a 390 soundset. I can understand how you get soundsets for planes, steam engines and diesels, but how do you get them for electric???

you have to REALLY listen and have a good recorder on hand

Altho some have very distinctive sounds - like the 323s

I could suggest popping over to http://the-train.de and downloading some of their electric sounds - they have some great ones. I would recommend their ICE sounds - but other ideas would include BR101, Taurus, and SBB Re460 sounds. Of course, the horn will be wrong, but there are some superb sounds over there.

@Monarchgold, Electric engines all sound different, older locomotives have a deep rumble from their motors, whereas more modern items will make a whining noise. I suggest you listen more carefully to electric traction - the range of sounds is enormous!

Hi,

Just as an idea. I use the FS ETR480 sounds to go with my Pendolino train. They are not perfect but considering the ETR480 is an FS Pendolino - it should be a close option :). The train can be downloaded from http://www.trenomania.it .

Hope this helps
