One for Kuju please

The Rail Simulator forum was very busy leading up to the UK release on October 12th 2007, this is a read-only copy of those discussions for historic and review purposes.

One for Kuju please

Post by bosbrian »

Hi Sabrina/Claire,
I was wondering if it is possible, after the unveiling in Leipzig, whether Kuju would consider releasing some in-game screen shots.

Also I am a little uncertain/confussed as to what inclusions each of the 2 packages will contain. While I understand the European package will not include US content, but will the US package include European content. I realise that this second question may not have been decided yet, but I, and probably others, would be interested in the answer when it becomes available.

Cheers
Brian

Please, this is a question for Kuju. No responses with speculation, opinions or arguments which will cause the thread to be locked like the last time

Hi,

We will be publishing screenshots soon - as for the 2nd question - yes you're right - we can't give any details about that at the moment.

Sabrina, I fully understand the reasoning of keeping mum about many details until after the Leipzig show... your big coming out party -- but afterwards, would it be possible to answer in the forums many of the questions about features that people have asked? As a route designer, I'm just dying to know more about the terrain projection method, terrain poly size... and the place photo editing tools like Adobe have in imaging terrain... as well as how fine is the control over track placement (i.e., how cad-like). Were I at Leipzip I'd ask, but as I won't be, I have to ask here.

I would just like to say that for Leipzig – we have a demo built specifically for this show – so whilst some of you might be expecting to see a wholey developed Rail Simulator – we will only be providing a specific purpose built demo with some of the functions we have already announced.

As for terrain projection methods – a general introduction has been made on the website here; http://www.railsimulator.com/en/world_editor.htm however we will return to the world editor and terrain manipulation after Leipzig :)

Hi Sabrina,

it would be nice if you could tell us a few days before the start of the fair what we really can expect to see. While I am really interested in the simulator, I probably won't drive hundreds of miles just to see a self-running demo. Thanks!

... excellent point. I don't want to drive 200km just to see a static demo too.

Sabrina, it would be nice if you could let us know upfront what type of release show we can expect to see in Leipzig: static demo/screenshots or runing demo/ (pre-)release version of real sim.

I plan to go there on Friday next week. So would be great if there would be some news regarding this before...

thanks

The GC is not next week, but in two weeks (24th - 27th), just FYI :)

Thanks for the feedback Klaus.

My plan is to travel to Leipzig on Fri, 25th. But of course only if a running (pre-) release of the KRS will be presented there. :o
