Games Convention in Leipzig

The Rail Simulator forum was very busy leading up to the UK release on October 12th 2007, this is a read-only copy of those discussions for historic and review purposes.

Games Convention in Leipzig

Post by henningBR218 »

Hi all,

... does someone know were the Kuju booth is exactly on the Game Convention in Leipzig? Couldn't find any detail info about on official web pages.

I plan to go there and catch a glimpse on the screens...

... and I don't want to waste time by running around and look for THE booth

... let's go and find out what the final release will look like. :D

I'd imagine that you need to be looking for the Electronic Arts stand, as they are the publisher of Rail Simulator in Europe, and the announcement about Rail Simulator being shown at Leipzig said "Rail Simulator will be shown at the Electronic Art booth" ;)

Games Convention in Leipzig

Yes, you are right.

I did find EA on the GC web pages, but there were nowhere listed which hall they are in and which section within hall. And they have a big exhibition area the in Leipzig, with a lot of halls...

At least Kuju's attendees of GC should know..

I am glad to hear that somebody from the community plans to have a look at KRS at the Leipzig show.

Tried to do so myself only to find that the timing of plane and/or train connections are unsuitable for a 77 year old, traveling in the sort of heat we are likely to have again then.

To add to the misery the UK Daily Mail reported yesterday that British Midland and British Airline pilots and staff are threating to strike over the August Bank Holiday.

So beware, those of you who are planning to fly to Germany on or after the 28th of August !

Hi
I would have always imagined that a similar games show/exhibition would have been hosted in the UK, sometime during the year.
Although a small population, we must be one of the fairly large games markets?
Cheers

The UK's main show is Games Market Europe in London in September, but I don't know if EA go to that (don't think they did last year).

There's also the EIGF (Edinburgh International Games Festival) which is sometime in August, so I'd imagine it's unlikely to be shown there when you consider Leipzig is being used for a/the big showing.

Remember a year or so ago Tim Court saying Germany was the second largest market which came as a surprise.

The day it goes on sale is the only day which matters to me.

I'm 52 and not 2 and only interested in cold, hard facts and look beyond the next 'feed'.

Cheers

Yeah, they used to have ECTS, but it got cancelled which is a shame, although that was press only it was great fun.
