Work in progress from the Virtual District Line team. As the Dark Blue line runs along side the Green Line for a good distance, we felt another important stock was needed. Folowing are screen shots of work in progress. Train by Richard Scott, cab by Darren, and I'm working on the physics and lighting and other details.

Just to let you know the cabview is of a refurbed '73. The original '73s had a cab similar to the CO/CP stock that can be downloaded from here.

Looks good though. Takes me back 8 years!!

Just to let you all know that iv'e found some great pics of the original 1973 stock cab on the ltmuseum website so work will be commencing on the original version as soon as the refurb is completed.

Thanks guys. It was strange to be testing on the fast lines after so long driving the District metals. It did feel at home though

Doc - I'd appreciate some of your experience... I've left the physics as for the D78 (same wheels, motors and gearing) and only adjusted the weight and drag (overall 10t heavier tare weight for the train as TubePrune notes - i.e. about 1.5t heavier for each car; and slightly less frontal drag). Right now it tops out at 45mph on the non-stop section EB from Acton Town. Is that about right?

I'm psyched about the cab. We'll put in as much detail as MSTS allows (controls/displays). I think I might even be able to put some functionality into the "toblerone"

The train is of course up to Richard's high standards, with a few details to be added or tweaked. I'll also put together a few consists (e.g. EB to Cockfosters, WB to Heathrow or Rayners) and use the right set numbers from my 'oldish' WTT.

More news/pics as it progresses....

Toblerone -- the auto-announcer panel has a shape that resembles the famous swiss (?) chocolate bar, and is apparently refered to by the operators as such. See photo below:

Yes 45mph is about right. The line speed is 45mph max but going downhill you can get a bit more.

Train numbering as per the current WTT is as follows:

250-273 .-Rayners/Uxbridge
300-344 .-Heathrow
345-353 Northfields Depot interpeak stablers (MFO)
354-363 Arnos-Northfields Depot (MFO)
360-367 Arnos-Northfields Depot (MFX)
364-367 . Depot interpeak stablers (MFO)
371 Uxb Sidings overnight stabler
372 South Harrow overnight stabler
373 Acton Town overnight stabler (always 22 siding)
766 Northfields Depot-. Depot (or vice versa) Test/Transfer path (never seen that run ever!!)

The reverser barrel has REV, INT, FOR I, FORII and AUTO on it, as i can only do a three slide animation for it what positions should i use? Thanks. Darren.

Most of the time it's FOR2. I sometimes use FOR1 if it's raining because it gives the slower rate of acceleration thus preventing the wheels from slipping. Therefore use REVerse, INTermediate and FORward II.
