MK2 Coaches *NEW PIC*

Post by 47522 »

Some of you may know about the MK2 coaches that i started and have now come back to.

The models are about 40% done.
I was wondering if anyone had any detail shots or drawings for me to check my model up against.

Kind regards
Matthew

I have added a poll
I want to know weather you want LOD's with this model. I can do them but have noticed that some models in the 5k poly mark dont have them.

On my computer LODs dont really help, when a train with LOD's passes when im in view 4 the computer jolts as it loads the LODs for each wagon/coach.
Where as without LOD's the computer may stutter at busy areas but not as much when viewed from view 4

:-?

I couldnt decide so i have started a poll.

I have added 3 options becuase it wouldnt let me have just the two :-?
Dont mind is that same as no

Thanks
Matt

Does anyone have a front (or rear if you prefer :-? ) on picture of a MK2 coach.

Im trying to work out what gubbings they have on the buffer beam.
I can see they have ETH, the normal bufferbeam brakepipes and a drop head buck-eye.

What i really nead is a pic to show how the parts are arranged and how they hang/ droop/ swing etc... :P

Kind regards
Matt

Next Saturday/Sunday I will be down the East Kent Railway for our AGM so if you don't get any pictures before then, then I'll get some while I'm down there.

One thing i would like to add to your post Matt is have you considered doing two Versions as a Trial? See what some people prefer?
Also something that hasnt generally been done with More modern stock but has been done by Ian Mcmillan is the Static Coaches, any chance you could do a Static version/ Set ?

Would be super to have more modern sidings filled with stock but the stock being poly freindly?

best wishes

Jon

I plan to do two low poly types.
One for AI and the other for static/scenery.

Before anyone asks, yes there will be a matching DBSO
(That is if i dont get sick of em to quickly)

Thanks for the kind words

They look very nice.

Two questions.

1) For the non-modellers (well me, anyway!) what's the LOD and it's purpose?

2) Any other liveries planned?

Not looking bad at all - take it they're using photoreal textures?
