Anyone remember this program, it was screened either in 80s or 90s, presented by Rob Curling and Paul Coia? I was just wondering what happened to the power car they adopted for this series (Still BR intercity in those days) Does it still carry the name BBC Television Railwatch and what company does it work for now?

P.s Why cant the BBC do another series like this, it was a great insight into modern day railways

I remember the programe, 43108 carried the name.

Just did a google search on google.co.uk for BBC Television Railwatch and it had many links - Interestingly some dead links for http://open.bbc.co.uk which appears to be a prototype BBC service whereby you could download the TV shows.... If you open the cached links in google you get to see what the pages looked like.

Shame it's down as would have liked to have downloaded the series!

I see the old power car in question is operated by GNER, she now carries the name Old Course St. Andrews

Off the top of my head - wasn't it a Keith Chegwin/Maggie Philbin / Mike Smith/Sarah Greene live-in-the-evening type thing? Late 80's - it was only on for a week - didn't see any of it as I was on late turn...

Anyone got a copy!?

It was either 1988 or 1989 this was on, I was in my second year of primary school ( aged 5 or 6) and remember Leeds Station, and a woman driver going from Eastbourne to London Victoria. And the National Railway museum at York.

My dad did record all the episodes for me and I did have them for a few years but unfortunatlty they have dissapeared.

The programme ran for five episodes of about 45 minutes each, from Monday 13/02/1989 to Friday 17/02/1989.

It was hosted by Mike Smith, with reports by Penny Bustin, Paul Coia, Rob Curling, and Malcom McKeag.

I still have episodes 2, 3, 4, and 5. Some clips are available on YouTube (not put there by me). Episode 2 was the best with a HST cab ride from Stoke Tunnel to Doncaster.

I know i'm draggin an old topic up, but the strange thing is i'm now working next to Fiona lol. Very small world we live in.
