"requires hardware acceleration"

i have installed MSTS on various computers but this one I tried it came up with Train Simulator "requires hardware acceleration".
All seetings that I can find are on full acceleration, its a good computer, lots of ram etc

Its usually a DirectX problem, or the graphics drivers are not installed correctly.

But does it have a good graphics card? Could it be on-board graphic? or maybe acceleration is turned off in the properties tab.
We really need a bit more information as to your computer's spec., especially in the graphics department.

its a Nvidia Riva TNT2 model 64
windows 2000 pro
have the latest directx

when i dowloaded a driver from Nvidia it would not load because it could not find device..

If you right click on "My Computer" and select "properties", then click on "Hardware" tab, then on "Device Manager" can you see anything under "Display adapters"? Should be somewhere around the third line down and click on the box with the cross in it. (if there is one)
