One thing thats always bugged me just a little bit is in most sims, whether it be FS2004, Falcon 4, MSTS is the zooming closer to objects. When ever you zoom in close to say a train for examlpe you always zoom right into the very middle of the object. There is probably some reason for this.
But saying that, and as we are here to throw ideas around I think would be very cool if some more create camera positions could be included. Lets say for example right down low at pointing forwards next to the wheels. Bit like what you some times see on TV. This gives a good impression of speeds.
I am sure many of you will have you own ideas here but just thought I would throw this in to see what you chaps and chapettes think.
Cheers

Re: External Views
For the existing MSTS I suggest you explore the various camcfg.dat files that are available and also explore in view 2 or 3 or 4 on the standard default setup the use of the mouse and arrow keys in combination to move the view position after using Control/Shift/9. With the use of Control/Arrow Keys as well, this does give some flexibility beyond what you infer.TheTazman wrote:One thing thats always bugged me just a little bit is in most sims, whether it be FS2004, Falcon 4, MSTS is the zooming closer to objects. However, Yes, I'd also hope that the Kuju sim enhances on the past arrangement and provides a more flexible Camera setup.

hmm... From the trainzer's perspective, there are three important views...
1) In cab view... Fully 3D. You can move around the cab wherever you want with no limits, whether it be sallying up to the buffers or relaxing down for a long drive. It is possible, if the creator adds the right features, to get a wheel cam or something similar...
2) 'Tracking view' This view attaches the camera to a loco or a piece of rolling stock. You can rotate the camera anywhere you want in a sphere around the stock... and zoom in and out. It is pretty flexible... You just have to click on another pieve of rolling stock to move the camera around.
3) Free roaming view, which lets you move the camera anywhere on the map, tilting around a point on the ground
generally, these views work pretty well... I don't think I've ever seen people on the TRS forums complaining about annoying cameras, and I think that something similar would work well with KRS...
Of course, we do expect innovation with the new game... I'm sure we would be a bit dissapointed if the new game contained a very similar viewing system for either MSTS or TRS. Perhaps Kuju could really surprise us and create something that really is completely different to what we have seen before

Now thats a good angle. This one i think gives an excellent example of power. Nice and low and the train looks huge!
