Farewell Thameslink

Post by phat2003uk »

Today was the last day of operation for the 'Thameslink' brand. First Capital Connect will take over from 02:00 on 1st April. After school today I went down to Harpenden station to get some shots of the last day of operation:

Anything but good seeing as it's First.

I don't think a 319 will look much better either.

WHAT?
Are you out of your mind? The ECML has changed enough.
What with the GNER trains with the red doors? The Network South East livery on 313's nearly all gone?
The 3 GNER Eurostars, all gone!

Welcome to the real world buddy, 365's are staying just in a different livery, i hope its the new livery they're using on the 185's and FGW HST's that looks cool. Ivr always had a soft spot for funky modern art.

One of my workmates used Thameslink to commute to Blackfriars - according to him their service was dire. I too, on my odd journey that side of the city have found it to be pretty appauling!

Well, a 365 is going into first livery, but what about the other 365's, the 313's, 315's and 317's?

I expect the 365's will get re-painted soon as they are also in need of corrosion repairs like the 465's.

The 315's don't operate as part of the new First Capital Connect service.

I also think the 317's will get re-painted as some of them are looking diabolical with bare metal showing in patches.

313's - I expect them to get re-painted if the life extension program gets the go-ahead.

At least Thameslink won't get called that derogatory name anymore

Regards,

Dan

Some 313s are still in rather tatty NSE livery too aren't they? Think 1 or 2 at the most though...

Rather like 158750 in RR livery as a hanger on with First!

So GNER and the National Express Group (Virgin, Central, Midland Mainline) dont exist then
