Below the tracks ...

Post by meonia »

I couldn't search this as I didn't know how to word my search.

I finally modelled the emu loco mainframe with bogies etc and exported it to MSTS. Its shows up beautifully in SFV and also in MSTS, but ...

Its under the tracks! The top of the solebar is level with the ground under the tracks. How do I correct for placement on the tracks (in this case the loco needs to go up)?

Thanks, Mike.

It's a common newbie error. First you have to decide which part is the main part. I'm assuming the solebar? Whichever part is the Main part needs to be selected and then you go to the right side of the screen and the third icon down I believe will put you into Shift mode. Locate the centre marker (the three axis pointers) of the main part and then while holding down the Ctrl key drag the centre down to the bottom of the model. In my experience it works best if you leave it at 6" from the bottom of the window (half a background square if modelling in feet/inches somewhat less if in metric) to have the wheels on the top of the track and not above it. Export your model and it should be correct.

Thanks wmalder, that tip worked well and my loco is square on the tracks.
