Problem activating Premium Account

Post by moranb »

Despite having renewed my subscription for a premium account, it has still not been activated and several messages to the support address have not been replied to. According to the automatically generated e-mail acknowledgement my account should have been activated automatically once the payment was confirmed. I have been a premium account member for some two years without any problems to date. Is anyone else experiencing this problem. I trust that the expiry date of my account will be adjusted to compensate for the lost days.

While I understand your frustration you have worded your message in a fairly aggressive and accusatory tone. I'm sure whatever the problem is its an oversight, a system glitch or a problem with your emails not being received and nothing deliberately malicious or incompetent by UKTS.

If you have paid for a years membership you should recieve a years membership - posting aggressive messages is no reason to request a few extra freebie days. It's not like UKTS have taken away any of your membership time is it?

Did you type in your username correctly? Sounds silly, but when I first went premium I confused my usernames and told Matt I had a shorter one (MartinH I think - someone already had it!). However, at the time I was paying via cheque, so I don't know if the account was upgraded automatically or not.

Your MoranB account is premium according to the system, have you tried logging off, restarting your browser and flushing your cache?

When restaring your browser, press crtl+F5 to force refresh your page.

Happened to me so i forced refreshed the page and it workd.
Happens when you get a backlog of cache and cookies

Thank you for the various suggestions. I tried them all but with no success. I have no problem logging in to the site - but only to the pages with the panel on the right-hand side informing how to become a premium account member.

Is it possible that there is an issue with my user name. Matt uses the term MoranB account. However, I use a different user name to log-in to the TrainSim site. I have been using the same user name and password since I first took out a Premium Account subscription and was able to access the premium account site as late as last week before expiry of my previous subscription. I cannot log-in to the Trainsim site with the moranb user name.

To Saddletank, I can assure you that I certainly did not intend to sound aggressive or accusatory. The only reason I went on to this forum was that I had not received any reply to my e-mails to the support address.

You'll notice the first post in this topic you posted with the "moranb" username.

Which account would you like the subscription on and i'll set it up, if you want the moranb one i'll reset the password for you.

I suppose I should be consistent. Please change the username to 'moranb'.

Hopefully this will resolve the issue.
