I went for better signalling- particularly more reliability and the ability to prioritise trains.

Needs a better signalling system, and a much better turnout switching method (to cope with close proximity turnouts, and >2 exits).

Even more flexibility to cope with:

- multiple car spawner lists (then we can make boat spawners, etc ourselves)

- dual braked locos

- dual power locos (electro diesels)

- sidings without overhead wires on electrified routes

- improvements in the sound capabilities

- two cabs for locos and multiple units

- sort out the 'front coupling' problem properly

- use the length of road vehicles from the .sd file to determine where to stop at level crossings

- more responsive mouse pointer movement on the startup screens and alerts

- More useful error messages, instead of the 'Send to Micr$oft'

- Ability to go to Windows desktop when game is paused (so I can restart my music when I get to the end of a CD)

- Deep shadow beneath road and rail vehicles (probably impossible, but worth a try)

- user controlled sub-division of stock for the consist editor, rather than just Locos (electric), Locos (diesel), Locos (steam), Freight and Passenger

- simple way of deleting activities

MSTS Improvement

Post by Kevo00 »

How about making it easier to create a consist, by placing the consist editor inside the main program as well as in the seperate activity editor? Or even move the activity editor inside the main MSTS program altogether?

You can minimise MSTS, though I forget how as its not installed at the mo. it was either Alt-Tab, or just the windows button. I think the former.

Yeah, ALT + TAB drops the window (Or any window nearly, Not just MSTS)

Sometimes you can drop the window by just pressing the windows key, But sometimes that dont work.

Easier editors, plus I would like to see it optimise the routes, instead of copying the same files over again, but to draw the resources routes need from one source.

Best Shaun.

I agree with Shaun. Also, some kind of stock editor.

How about a multiplayer ability, with multiple drivers and signalmen?

More from MSTS

Post by 37413 »

I would like to see more realistic features when trains come into stations such as more human beings on platforms, cars in car parks etc at the moment the human population on MSTS does not like trains as there is very few people waiting to get on trains. Finally I wonder if Mr Byres ex goverment minister has something to do with this.
Regards.

I went for better editors, but to me all of them are important.

Graphics and sound are the 2 that are definately going to be improved.

This pre-supposeses backward compatability with MSTS1  (& not too big a "Minimum System" hike) I hope?!

(I, for one, could probably justify £50 on new software I suppose, but not if it also means £1500 on new hardware)
