The UKTS Challenge

Post by trainlover123 »

Hi,

Here's an idea, from 00:00 1/1/06, when you get back from a Railway Station/Journey, you post the names of the stations you have stopped at, and alighted the train. :)

This to see how many different Railway Stations around the UK we visit as a community.

It can be any line in the UK, as people like me often use Heritage Lines, and raely use the Big Railway.

Let's see, today I went to Amersham, Marylebone, Baker Street, Liverpool Street, Bethnal Green, Bank, Waterloo, and Clapham Junction. And all for less than £5!

In the 7.5 years since we moved up north, I have boarded and alighted at the following stations:

On a "heritage" train:
Pickering*
Levisham
Goathland*
Grosmont*
Glaisdale
Whitby

On a "modern" train:
York*
Thirsk*
Oxford
Sheffield
Shildon
Northallerton

Boarded only at
Thornaby
Darlington

Alighted only at
North Road (Darlo)

*More than once

:D

Hum? All stations I can remember you ask? Okay :)

Birmingham New Street, Wolverhampton, Bournville, Solihull, Holyhead, Chester, Shrewsbury, Birmingham International, London Euston, Weymouth, Bournemouth, Dorchester West, Westbury, Exmouth, Exeter St Davids, Paignton, Torquay, Loughborough, Great Yarmouth, Norwich, Telford Central, Wellington, Codsall, Albrighton, Bilbrook, Cosford, Newport Gwent, Cardiff Central, Bridgend, Bristol Temple Meads, Nuneaton, Derby, Leicester, Pwllheli, Penychain, Machynllyth, Aberstwyth, Warwick, Reading, Birmingham Snow Hill, Birmingham Moor Street, Gobowen, Crewe, Manchester Airport, Melton Mowbray, Milton Keynes Central, Cardiff Queen Street, Stafford, Peterborough, Walsall, Bristol Parkway, Highbridge and Burnham, Perry Barr, Barnstaple, Weston Super Mare, University, Ely.

All 58 of those stations have received a visit from yours truly in the past 10 years, and I'm fairly sure that there will have been more that I just can't remember. Nice to think how varied our rail network is, and all the places you can go. I don't travel especially much, but I've covered a fair amount of the country over the last decade or so.
