I wouldnt be surprised if the WHR are stealing it........again :x

Tis a nice loco though, and it also means that the FR will be one steam loco short when it comes to standbys......... :(

Hopefully it won't leave!

tisn't perfect for either line (it's a prairie after all), but it is much more suited to the Festineog, than the WHR.

Its not going anywhere... I fear someone has be winding you up and think I know who

It will however reaching the end of its ten year Certificate in Spring 2006.

Then she/he/it is likely to spend a year in storage before overhaul even begins... guessing that takes about 2 years are we are looking at 2008/9 before the Alco runs again. :(

Talks are rummouring of a "farewell Alco" weekend - anyone prepared to attend?

Yes the alco is quite defintly not going anywhere in more than one sense as well soon.

It really needs stripping right back to the frames so they can be made a parallel again. Also the firebox is not particuarlly healthy.

The alco would probaly struggle with water capacity on the WHR it barely carries enough for the FR which isnt good seing as it absoultly guzzels the stuff.

It'll be sorely missed by me, its alot of fun to fire and the noise it makes is unbeliveable. Had some great days on it over the summer escpecially double heading with prince. Linda should be back in traffic before the summer season to replace it but shes not nearly as much fun.
