Ray Hanna 1928 - 2005

Post by BR7MT »

Ray Hanna, former leader of the Red Arrows, co-founder of the Old Flying Machine Company and one of the finest pilots ever to take ot the skies has passed away at the age of 77.

If you've ever seen Spitfire MH434 flying at an airshow recently it was most likely Ray Hanna flying it. His displays in this aircraft alone will long be remembered as will his work on films such as 'A Piece of Cake' where he flew MH434 under a river bridge and 'Empire of the Sun' where he flew one of the Mustang's.

Just to show you how good he was there is a clip of him giving Alain de Cadenet a 'hair cut' (WARNING! STRONG LANGUAGE!!)

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried :)
