Shapes into placement/more

The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

Shapes into placement/more

Post by laverack »

I have used Michael Vone's steps for placing all folders/sub folders of YCR into my new route and changing the ref file to obtain objects and shapes, however, not all objects appear in more in placement. Many objects are transferred. What steps must I take to get the shapes to appear in 'more' of placement. New to route building and my first query. Thank you for your time.

There may well be a bracket error in the .ref file when you copied shape data from one to the other. No shapes beyond the bracket error will be available for placement.

Try this:
Open Route_Riter.
Select your Route.
Select the .ref file.
Click on "Open REF file editor".

All the shapes will be listed in an almost "Excel-like" format. If the last shape in the list is not the last shape in the REF file, at least you will have found the bracket error. Edit the REF file to correct the error. Programs such as ConTEXT can help with errors involving (a lack of) matching brackets.
