Wondering

The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

Wondering

Post by WSR2005 »

I'm new to this so I can't build routes too well, but I was wondering whether anyone fancied making the Alderney railway route? This would be an interesting project to make due to the cliff faces and other impressive scenery. :D

Do have a go your self! Everyone has to start somewhere, and a"table top"route like Alderney would be a good place to start.
If you really don`t fancy route building then you could collaborate with a route builder. Could you offer source materials, maps photos?
The snag with Alderney is it`s remoteness for most people to get 1st hand info.
If you do have a go can I suggest you don`t generate the terrain by hand ? Because Alderney topography is convoluted. Try DEMEX (satellite data) (assuming it covers the Island) or TSTF (converts map contours)
Best wishes Rick

Glad to hear you`re giving it a try! There`s lots of info and support here on the Forums. I`m a beginner myself but I`ll help if I can. Route building can be frustrating at first but it gets easier - Honest!
Good Luck Rick
