I would like to see a 4 REP as they were used on the Waterloo - Bournemouth section of the route, also would make a useful activity.

Shunt move at Bournemouth where the REPS came off and the 33 coupled on to the TC

Alot of the time the 33 was sandwiched between the 4TC and rep.

And in real Days(Going back 30 years i,m old) when i was doing Haulage in the 70,s a 33/1 came on at Bournemouth and Pulled the
4TC To Weymouth And then Pushed to Bournemouth if my Brain is thinking Right :-?

The 4-REP only worked Between London and Bournemouth Push/Pulling the 4TC

Must see if i can dig out my old Haulage books :o

You can control a 33 through the cab of a slamdoor. Also, the reason REPs only went to Bournemouth was as that was as far as electrification had gone at the time (maybe to Branksome for Bournemouth Depot).

One possible way to do this would be to have the train arriving at Bomo for the 4REP to uncouple at the rear and then drop your 33/1 to the fornt 4TC

From memory the REPS were always at the London end so a northbound would have the REP waiting in the platform for the TC to couple up to on arrival and the 33/1 detached to run back ready for its next turn

The boat trains would arrive with a 73 and detach for the 33/1 to carry on forward

Hope this helps

Cheers

I can't see why you'd have the 33+TC set running in reverse formation so that it would have to couple up to the REP. Perhaps very occasionally some daft move like that would be needed...

Though there was a fabulous move available ages ago where a 33/1+4TC+4VEP would run from Waterloo - Basingstoke and split for Salisbury and Soton. That would shift it quite rapidly, I imagine...
