It's not necessarily your graphics card.

Stuttering us usually caused by MSTS loading the next tile from disk - and disk access is usually the slowest part of any operation. I use 1280x1024x32 and it makes little difference whether it's set for best graphics or best performance on many routes, but the most detailed ones will almost come to a stop on ultra-high settings in some places...

I use 1280x1024x16 too, and this is generally OK. But if you try 1024x768x16 with some minor tweaks in the MSTS display settings for the very "juddery" activities, then I believe you get an improvement.

Some had these sort of problems with Blackpool Tramway, and someone (can't remember who...Vern or Geoff possibly) suggested suitable MSTS settings to cope with the complexity of the scenery, etc.

It may be worth hunting the thread out and trying the suggested settings.

I think i know what you mean. When you are driving a train it sort of stops and starts for a bit. Once the route gets going it should stop happening. I was always wondering what was happening when this was happening until i found out a while ago.
