A new hungarian (again !) route : the ZL1

Post by ebensoussan »

Hi all,

Hardly I had the time to make a topic with the Jaszkiser-Nagybereg route that a new Hungarian route, the ZL1 was released.

You can get it from http://www.z-line.hu/letoltes.php

The route is brillant too, but there is a hitch :

The download "weighs" 789 MB in only one archive. I was obliged to downlad the route with my office's ADSL two nights ago and it seems the download required about 3 hours of connexion.

After installation the line needs 1,4 GB on your disk. Of course, you can use Route Riter to reduce the size. A french trainsimmer suggests the following tips :
a) compress the ACE files with Paul Gaussden's SAVETEX
b) delete the THM files included in the shape folder
c) delete the BK files in the Tiles and world folders

It seems too that there are no REF files, and I'm wondering it's important or no

The installation is easy but mind for the separate Global and Sound files to add in you main GLOBAL and Sound directories.

There are no activities, except one named explore which uses a "hotbox" consist which is not supplied. I renamed one my previous hungarian consist to avoid unexpected messages.

The route is fictious with electrified double track itineraries and unelectrified secondary branches. I could'nt measure the route but it seems slightly wider than the Jaszkiser-Nagybereg route. The scenery is as good as Jaszkiser'one with the use of original buildings as weel as the best among german, italian and french (from Roger Morot) production

Some shots hereafter

The wrecked 43-1078 engine can be found.here http://users.atw.hu/fc-21/letoltesek/MV ... 3-1078.exe

Notice I had some problems with hungarian stocks. Some engines are linked for cab and sounds to other engines which have a different name than the one required. I was unable too to run the superb EMU I downloaded from http://www.train-sim.hu/ . I'am convinced there is a bug in the cabview; Notice that self installer creates a "MAV_BDVmot_VMW" folder. You can dowload the same type of EMU (with a less brillant livery) from http://users.atw.hu/mstrainsim/request.php?36
The self installer creates a "MAV_BDVmot_001" folder. However you need a "MAV_BDVmot_014" to run this last engine. I found nowhere the 014 archive untill I realized that the "MAV_BDVmot_VMW"'s content matched to the 014. The folder ought to be renamed "MAV_BDVmot_014" !. Anyway, as there is a bug ... And I had several cases like this one

Hi Emmanuel
Thanks for the headsup...looks superb...as good if not better than payware.
If the EMU is the one I'm thinking of...I've been running it a while...its a real beauty.
The cabview should be the BVDmot "Hernyo"
The one above it is great too...MDmot "Piroska"..........which is a push pull diesel.....done some work on the sound files to get the loco to rev properly in push mode.
Some of the HU stock is fantastic...with cabviews and sounds...one of my favourites is the Mohab M61s......and of course the "Szergei" M62s
Cheers

Hi,
If anyone wants this route, I can send it as a 'Data-DVD'. Please e-mail me. There is of course no charge.
Ron.

PS: I can also include the other route as well (The Jakiser-Nagybereg)

Hi Jon,

thanks for the link. I already used it last week and, as I told you , for unknown reasons the engine don't work on TS as soon as I try to use it for instance in explore mode. TS begins to load the explore activity then just at the middle stops and crashes. I'ts very surprising as I heard several persons who, like you, had no problems with the model.
I did several trials and it appears it is the cab files which are faulty.

Cheers

Hi

The website to download the route seems to be down. Anyone knows where I can download it elsewhere?

Thank you
