Standing AI Trains After Duty

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

Standing AI Trains After Duty

Post by gordon_walter »

It is annoying when AI trains arrive into stations and simply dissappear at the end of their path! Is it possible to have trains just sit in a platform after arriving as if the driver has got out and left the train there for it's next duty!

There are two ways of achieving this.

1. Right click on a platform marker and select properties. Then increase the number of passengers. The time the train will wait at the platform is directly proportional to the number of passengers. You can also use this method for increasing the time a through train stops at a station- though it will apply to all other stopping trains.

2. You can place double reverse points- both of whch are strategically placed close together. Take care not to place these two close to the buffers or the activity may crash.

Hi

I have asked myself the same question many times before.
I agree with the latter, but (always a but isnt there) depends how long you intend to stop in an area where the AI train is, if not long just up the passenger volumes on stations as where the double reverse points are concerned, work well, but as just mentioned, to close together and kput.
Basically repeating what has just been posted.
But comes to show we have tried it.
