Londons new 5 star gotel opens in 2008

Post by johncas »

Londons new 5 star hotel opens in 2008 after restoration yes the old hotel at St Pancrass is being re-opened as a 5 star hotel and being restored as the building is haunted so would not like to spend a night there my self.

But should look nice when restored shame BR did not look after the building and neglected it.

There is no web link but there was an article about it on channel 4 news I surspose it's a good idea with the Eurostar terminal comeing.

Look up Kings Cross Redevelopment or Camden Council for info on the St Pancras Hotel refurb. The roof chambers will be made into appartments as well.

Are we allowed to be cynical and bet on how soon this one closes as well? ;)

Or Johncas could just answer my question, which is reasonable and was politely asked. Or if you know, Adam, you could be helpful and tell me. Sorry to appear to be such a dopey provincial hick but I have genuinely never heard the term before.

ghost+hotel I'd say.

Unless that it not what is officially going to be called, I would suggest that sticking with "Hotel" would be a good idea if they want any considerable number of guests.

It actually kind of bemuses me how they seek to commercialise a phenomenon that we actually know little about, and I'm not just talking about St Pancras here (you get castles marketed as haunted and so on). The spirit is surely linked to emotion, and I just think that - at least until if/when we understand the supernatural - perhaps it isn't a good idea at all.
