Being a seaside destination, services arrived from all corners of the country so almost anything could go. Alan has listed in the other YCR thread the stock included on the YCR CD which may give some ideas.
This site may give ideas to source MSTS equivalents of the native stock:
http://www.bulleid.force9.co.uk/lneeg/
Basically, it's NER/LNER and quite a number of stock items now exist thanks tio the efforts of those who hepled develop the activities for the route. When I started building it here was hardly anything.
Also, take a peek at my Webpages (see WWW below). Maybe a few ideas there.

I took a quick look at what was around in 1948 when all the branches were active, the Pickering to Seamer line being the first casualty in 1950
Scarborough had 6 C7 Atlantics, Hull which covered the services via Bridlington to Scarborough had 3 C6 and 5 C7 Atlantics.
York had half the fleet of B16's, but strangly the D49's were at York and Hull, but not Scarborough.
D20's were at Hull and Bridlington only.
There were A8's, at Scarborough, Whitby, Hull, Middlesborough and Saltburn.
G5's were at Malton, Whitby, Hull, Middlesborough
Almost all the locomotives were North Eastern rather than LNER types.
Definately need the A8's and G5's for local passenger and probably some J24 0-6-0's for goods

MikeSimpson's and Morperthcurve's Sentinel Railcars and Shunters had a true home on the YCR branches in the 30's and 40's. The lower powered variety on the Forge Valley line, and an uprated version for the coastal branches but even then they would have struggled on the climb to Ravenscar.

For freights there's the J27's, J39 and Q7. More D49's are on the way and also a few Atlantics although these could be the wrong type for the Scarborough - Bridlington line. All of Mickoos superb freeware loco's worked in the area. B1's were the main motive power on the NYMR section and it was B1's and Black 5's that worked most of the holiday traffic into Scarborough, Some of the excursions were even 8F powered. Pacifics rarely made it to Scarborough, The main reason been the turntable in Scarborough was too short for them. If one did work through they were turned on the triangle at Filey holiday camp. The largest loco's to work into Scarborough regularly were probably the V2's, B1's were the largest type allowed on the costal route. It will be nice to see what all you activity writers come up with

How about a couple of the activities from the CD being made available so that us downloaders can get an idea of what's what.

I'm working on some new activities utilising the A8s, G5s, D49s freeware standard tanks, Mickoos V2s and the BR liveried LNER stock (B1s and rolling stock- not A4s!) on the Blue arrow LNER Pack.
The coastal passengers are operated by a mixture of D49s, standard tanks and A8s, the inland slightly easier routes by the same plus the smaller G5s and the expresses to Scarborough with the V2s. Heavier trains and freights operated by B1s on these routes.
I may do a heavy passenger along the coast with the BATS B1 and Mickoo's L1 tank, now that would look good!

Activities for the YCR route
Hello there,
Will there be anymore activities for this route? I have just purchased the CD and is brilliant:)
I would 'have a go' at making some activities, but I can't get my head round the Train Simulator programme to make them, i.e to add moving trains, and how to make trains stop at stations... basically everything!!
justin:)

If it has inspired you to consider making activities, everyone has to start somewhere. Have a look at the guides on this site and elsewhere and in a day or so you'll be surprising yourself.
John
Edit: I'm pretty sure some new activities are being developed and will be on the downloads soon, if they aren't there already.
