PSS or PMDG

Post by TGVDuplex »

Hi,

I'd like to get either the A319,A320,A320 set with PSS or the Boeing 737-600/700 and the 800/900 add-on for FS9. However, I cannot decide which to get. They both have their pros and cons (judging from the reviews) and I'd really like to get one of them. Anyone have either and can offer their opinions on them. Screenshots would be nice if available.

Thanks to anyone who replies.

M@ :)
Cheers,
Matt

Have both and both, as you say, have the good points and bad points.
When I've a bit more time I'll give more detailed opinions, but perhaps the choice can be made by your system specification.
I'd advise a monster of a machine in order to really enjoy the PMDG.

Some images of the PMDG NG.

(some of these may not show or fully - at least to me - as I've issues with displaying stuff in AS albums)

Thanks for the pictures. I've heard that PMDG requires a monster machine to run good. One question about the VC in the PMDG models. Are the overhead switches modelled, and are they 'clickable'? It'd be nice to be able to just POV up and click the proper switches, and then POV back down to the panel, instead of having to open it as a 2d panel.

Thanks,
Matthew

Yep, the VC (pedestal, overhead, FMC etc.) is virtually fully clickable.

It is.

Can't wait for their 747-400 package (hopefully a hard copy will be available sooner rather than later).

I'm looking forward to the MD-11 as well. It looks very promising!

Sorry to dig up an old topic, but I was wondering what the engines sounded like. Do you have a way to record the sound and post it? If not, does it sound like the A319,20,21 with CFM's? You know, the bzzzzzzzz on take-off?

Only means I have is an .FSR file recorded in FS2004. I could email it to you if you want but I don't know if it'd work. They're only small (500Kb for example) and so I presume they're very much dependent on the receiver having the relevant files installed in order for it to play as the sender would hear it.

I could send you the sound sets (only 7-8Mb each in total) if you want.

Hi Matt
Sorry for the belated reply.
Will do but it'll probably be Friday evening by the time I get them sent off.
A report, a discussion paper, a powerpoint presentation and dial-up don't go together well.

I know what you mean. I have two Powerpoints, one report, but a broadband connection (5 mbps) Thanks again.

Matt
