Lima Locomotive Wheels
Having just bought my first Lima loco (a class 37 diesel - I usually buy Hornby or Bachmann), I notice that there is a fine rubber ring oneach of the two wheels connected to the cogs on the driving bogie. The other wheels on the bogie don't have this feature. My problem is that one of these rubber pieces keeps working loose and then the train wobbles from side to side as it travels and derails each time it goes over points. What is the purpose of these rubber rings and is it OK to remove them? Will the loco still run?

Yes, they'll run without, but they're there to aid traction on the rails.
If you're only using it with a few coaches/wagons, it should work without the tyre. And if it doesn't, just put it back on with the tiniest drop of superglue
Best of luck,
