New Route: Warbler Manor Light Railway
Hi all,
I know that I have said that I will produce a model of the Llanberis Lake Railway, but I have decided that it would probably be better if my first route was freelane, so for the time being Llanberis is on hold (until I can get accurate 2X DEM data anyhow!)
In the mean time I will be working on a truescale route named The Warbler Manor Light Railway, it will essentially be an amusement for the Lod of the Manor, though in the period modelled it will be in early preservation after a decade of rot!
I will post screenshots as and when progress is made, though this may not be too often as I now work SIX days a week with only Tuesdays as a day off!!!
I have created the RGE stuff, so will start terraforming (DEM) when back from work tomorrow, and then its time for rhe permanent way to be laid!
If people have any suggestions for scenic items to include please do not hesitate to contact me. either by PM, E-Mail or this thread. I will soon be contacting some scenery authors for permission to use some of their items in the route which I hope to be able to upload when it is complete!

Right then, after two days hard(?) graft, here's the first of the screenshots, they are in no particular order and at present, I've not done any terraforming apart from a big lake!

My first ever Passing loop, not too much dificulty creating it, but could have been easier!

End of line at present, construction work will recommence after the workers union calls off the strike!
Hope you like these Early screenshots, these are after TWO days work so are not yet upto the standards I wish to achieve!
Any comments greatly recieved!

Lookiung good dale,
May i suggest a couple of things? Tempting though it is to go ahead and lay reams of track down everywhere, might i suggest that you prehaps create the grounds of the manor, and then set the railway around them? This would prehaps look a little bit more natural than doing the opposite. Very nice though, its looking good.

Re: New Route: Warbler Manor Light Railway
I wouldn't hold your breath for 2x DEM data.....it's unlikely to happen.Garthion wrote:..............Llanberis is on hold (until I can get accurate 2X DEM data anyhow!)
I tried to get hold of some (and modified for 2x) and it was very unsatisfactory. It's easy to stretch the DEM for 2x (someone produced a little utility to do so) but it also needs to be re-interpolated otherwise all you get is a series of steps.
I went ahead with the "traditional" coutouring with TSTF and ended up with good results.

I have been working very steadily on the Route now for a few weeks, but over the last couple of days, I decided I wanted something with a little more speed to test the route with. Que TGA Tools and PSP a bit of painting and the First Warbler Railways Locomotive has been outshopped along with a fine rake of coaches in corporate colours! (See image below) If I can get permission off of the relevant authors then I aim to upload these sometime before I release the route!

The Diesel "DALE" undergoes loaded test runs on the South Weald Light Railway following overhaul by Weasel Works and Repainting by Warbler Light painters!
Hope you like the Livery as that is the Company Corporate Colours of the Warbler Railways Trust. Custodians of the Warbler Manor Light Railway, renamed Warbler Railways.
Progress pictures will be posted during the next week!
Thankyou for reading this and please feel free to make any comments, good or bad!

Just where I'm running it in at the moment and as the line looks nice in this version (can'y wait for the next one) I thought it would be reasonable to say that it had undergone overhaul theresp762 wrote:Yes - it looks like a 3' loco on 2'6 track.
BTW thanks for the implied compliment - but I'd like to point out that I haven't actually had anything to do with this loco...

It's going to be a fair length, Going from a main line link on the Mineral line, to the Manor, then (after running round, it will take the other branch at the junction towards the Village then town, all in all about five or six miles of NG track. The SG will be about the same length in UKFS and will be double track. I'm not going to give a release date yet though as I'll never meet it and I'll get lots of complaints
I'll post more pics soon!

First off BUMP!!!
I've had a little problem with my route, I.E. a complete and catastrophic HD failure followed shortly afterwards by a motherboard and PSU failure so cue new larger HD, Motherboard and PSU and guess what, no route so now i'm into build three of the Warbler railways system and a new track plan which will (rather amitiously) inclue three gauges, 2ft 3ft and 4ft 8 1/2 inches! the SG part will still be double track with the 2ft part being the mineral line which has the track just visible above the grass and finally the 3ft track will be the main line which will run for the greatest length and link up to both the 2ft line and the SG line. The basic idea will remain the same with the 3ft and 2ft lines meeting in the grounds of the manor but the 2ft line will now run to a different destination namely a small industrial area which will be owned by the Lord of the Manor. The TSC diesel will remain in the blue colour (I saved that loco!) and will be the mainstay of the 3ft passenger activities!
