The Cartic4 is a complicated model with 7 parts 3 of which are short bogies.

Replacing each part with another car transporter can lead to the train being too long.

The real thing was 200ft long so your replacement should be about 3 coach lengths.

Route Riter and Activity Analyser will both replace the 7 parts with another wagon. You will then have to go into the Activity Editor and remove some wagons.
Conbuilder will let you replace some of the parts and delete the others.

Unfortunately there are few suitable replacements. I'd love to build one but I can't find a drawing.
If you have the BATS Fire and Wires CD or the Electric Heritage CD you can use 3 of the carflats from that.

You could use continental wagons but these are all too big for the British loading guage.

One exception is the Italian LT-ddm here..........

3 of these would be suitable replacements.

See http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... ght=cartic - as far as I know the cartics are still on the NWE 2.1 CD.

I am not having much luck at all trying to load this route.

I get all kinds of issues reported when I have tried to run it - mostly missing shapes. Now it will only run in Tutorial Mode.

It may be due to me not loading it correctly, but then I am very confused by the instructions.

Which of the five files do I actually need to run, and in which order?

To be honest, I wouldn't install this route - get the Dorset Coast CD instead and follow the upgrade guides to V4 and then V5 (this covers Waterloo - Southampton plus much much more - Reading, Weymouth etc)

Get the CD first, install make sure everything works, do the V4 upgrade, make sure it all works and then do the V5 upgrade. There are detailed instructions around for the upgrades but, as always, ask if you are unsure.
