FSsound.dll

Post by bigvern »

I notice that quite alot of third party aircraft downloads/sound packs require you to place this file in the modules folder. This results in MSFS generating a warning prompt when starting the sim. Is there any way of supressing this, or just something one needs to live with to enjoy some of the third party sounds - for the most part vastly superior to the default MS ones.

Vern , have you got an [OLDMODULES] section in your FS9.cfg?

You need to add

[OLDMODULES]
FSsound.dll=1

and all should be well...

Went to try that...but there is no fs9.cfg file in the MSFS root folder that I can see (there is one for fs2000 and fs2002). Try creating one in Wordpad and adding the relevant entries but the message persists.

Sorry to sound like a complete newb here but, er, help!

It's in the Documents and Settings folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\[NAME]\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\fs9.CFG
