Thomas Narrow gauge activities

Post by tdstead »

After playing with the Thomas activity for Thaxted, I'm now feeling that the narrow gauge locos and stock should have a adventure....

I'm thinking that a fictious line would be the best way to go and either a Liliput type adventure on Hill Village even though the speed limits are set at mainline speeds or B&SR would be ok,

Working on the locos I have
Duke
Duncan (Skarloey railway)
Falcon Now Sir Handle (Have Both)
Ivohugh
Kerr ?
Rhenas
Skarloey
Stuart Now Peter Sam (Have Both)

Have not see model of Rusty.

I have not written anything like this before so any idears or help would be great.

You can either write to me here or direct

Awaiting your emails

Tom,

Activity Editor is complex bit of kit, though i imagine there are some tutorials on this site about activity writing. Regarding the model of 'Rusty' there isnt one, as there is no model of the Talyllyn Railways 'Midlander', as for Kerr, its a character derived by the Corris Rly, based on their 'special tatoo' No.4 (or their replica (No.7 I think)).

Not something im interested in myself but i imagine some of the younger members might like it.

Yeah, Kerr, (being as it's one of my reskins) was based on the book 'Hugh goes Sliding.' This was written by Chris Awdry though, for the Corris Railway.

Yes I did. :) It was "You Can't Win" based on the books. Drive Stuart up to Duke and take him to the "top station" (I forget which station is the end of the route in the activity. It's been so long!)

I was in the process of making a "Bulldog" activity, however I didn't really come out right (and I can't simulate a RErailment in MSTS!! :-? ) Just be careful because I think that the activity might not be compatable with the new version of the route. (If this is true, be my guest to rewrite the activity and upload it so that everyone can enjoy it :) I don't have the time anymore to make such activities sadly :( )

However, I do think other activities using the present Thomas models would be wonderful :) Maybe one of Duke's special Picnic Trains (using the actual timetables) would be nice for the Ffest route (either version). Also, maybe a couple of "Skarloey Rly" (Talyllyn route) activities would be nice. Passengers and Polish, Peter Sam and the Refreshment Lady...give those a try. :)

(And I do hope that Midlander comes out soon...I want to see Rusty along side Duncan!)
