Problems with homemade activity

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

Problems with homemade activity

Post by MrHillingdon »

Hi, I perhaps should have posted in the beginners section but I'm here now so please bear with me.
I've only been dabbling with MSTS for a short while and have just purchased West Somerset Railway which I find is great fun. However, I wanted to create my own activity so I thought I'd have a go. I had a look at the Aussie site http://www.railpage.org.au where they have an idiots guide to creating activities, quite appropriate! Anyway, I have followed the instructions but end up with a few problems. My activity is basically driving from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard but passing trains in loops and having locos stabled at various locations along the line. In fact I have stabled a loco and coaches in all the passing loops as opposed to trying to make them AI trains. This way it gives the impression of actually being a Gala event with loads of stuff about. I haven't got anything too long for sections or fouling points that I will have to pass over at all. When I load the activity in MSTS I get an error message that says "Failed to set up trains for simulation" with a yes or no box under it. If I click on yes it then says "Failed to initialise activity manager".
Confused. Can anyone offer any guidance please.
Thanks,
Paul

In activity editor, have clicked on tools, and then verify start state?

Kept fiddling and have done it.
Only thing is, it routes me through the wrong (unsignalled) platform at Blue Anchor. Otherwise OK.
Thanks for your response, much appreciated.

Right click on the points running up to the unsignalled platform, and select "Take Next Exit" from the menu, do this to as many points as you need to get the train into the right platform.

The fun with MSTS is you can take anything anywhere. (Sod the RA number), & I had forgotten about RHF's holiday in the south west.
