Do you want a multiplayer for MSTS ,please read and reply!!

Post by demonshadow »

This is an idea i have just came across, A multiplayer for MSTS basing it on Microsofts idea for the Flight Simulator set.

1. Number of networked players at any time on a map- 2-16 of host's choice
2. Possibilitys of new rolling stock.
3.Players shall be able to create a running system having to stop for passangers at stations
4.Possibilitys of choosing type of service - i.e freight, passanger, shunting duties
5. Players could be able to work together - i.e double heading preparing rolling stock for other players
6. Free download or payed product.

All of these are/and would be good options for a multiplayer,
Of course not all of them have to be encluded in the final product,
I belive 1, 3 and 5 being important and 2 and 4 would improve the product.

If you think/or would like these possbilitys, Please leave a message/or email me your name (and any people such as uktrainsim team leave your position) so i can send of a partition email to the MSTS creator team.

Thanks kindly any of those who respond.

A good idea Miguel, but a waste of time writing to Microsoft. In their eyes MSTS is a dead product and they certainly wont be spending money on developing things like this.

Better to await the arrival of TMTS which does promise to deliver multiplayer - although maybe not in the first release.

Micro$oft scrapped it about three or four months ago. End of story.

I'm not sure - I have enough trouble dealing with one train at a time - and at least all my cockups remain on my own machine and aren't broadcast worldwide for everyone to see just how incompetent I really am...

Nah I think multiplayer is one of the next big things for Train Simulation but it isn't something you'll ever see in MSTS 1 - that said it is being very seriously worked on for the Train Artisan simulator and P.I.Engineering have not commented on what their plans for multiplayer are yet so who knows.

You can do MP in MSTS1 although it's a bit of a cludge. The MP aspect is that there are several players, but each copy of MSTS1 runs alone in explore mode.

See here:

I've played in one session and it was excellent, much more entertaining than you'd expect although sitting in a siding with your local freight and being told an Amtrak train is passing you when in fact your screen shows empty track is a bit naff, and you need some imagination!

ideas

Post by demonshadow »

well msot of you will know better then me about this, but surely all microsoft would have to do is modify some of the coding and add some more coding for the base of the multiplayer and if they can get it like valves steam machine for counterstrike.
if your driving a train of default MSTS stock and youf friend has the lateststock from Blue Arrow Lner pack it downloads it onto your pc for you, tho im sure this will now cause a arguement about freeware models being used like this

Hi

I can definately say that it will never happen. Its a dead product, copies have probably been stopped being made, so adding Multiplayer to a game unlikely to handle it very well anyway, would be a complete waste of money and time. Perhaps a shame, but you'll have to wait for the next generation of train-sims for Multiplayer.

personally id rather see the multiplay for MSTS not another game

if there was enough interest in a multiplayer product we might be able to get microsoft interested in creating it, wether it ends up as a multiplayer for msts or they restart the idea of msts

Microsoft will not restart development of MSTS - they have already issued their definitive statement, and that's that. Period. End of speculation.

Any further development HAS to be done by other parties, and that's exactly what's happening.

I am sure i read that Trainartisans product will have online work.
I think that one person is a fireman the other driver,or driver and second man for diesels.
Thanks
All the best
