What do yaou think to PMDG 737 NG?

I rececntly got PMDG's 737NG, WHAT A SUPERB sim aircraft.
I like having the FMC to play with, althought find long winded sometimes if on a long haul with a lot of wpt's.

The graphics are amazing, smooth, detailed, & theres loads of liveries on the disc, with loads more available for free download at the PMDG site.
If there was ever a great aircraft for FS2004/2002 this is the baby.
Great work PMDG, keep up the good work.

The only other great aircraft i flown is the RAF tonado, That comes in second to this as far as graphics & animation etc... its another great aircraft for those who havent got a fast jet, GET THIS!

What do you think to PMDG 737NG?
Or even Tornado?

Love the PMDG. Sometimes gets a little heavy on resources at a detailed airport scenery such as Heathrow Pro or a SimFlyers' airport but it is worth a slight drop in FPS. It's virtual cockpit is superb.
The -800/900 series add-on was also worth the money (while it was on offer). Don't know how much it is now.
It is due for a CD version release in October.
Can't wait for their 747-400 to be released

Big fan of the Lago Tornado too.
Probably the best military jet I've bought (with the PSS Avro Vulcan .B2 in close company).
The refuelling plug-in is a nice touch too.

Just had the Avro Vulcan through the letterbox this last week, Its great! I do find its a real sod to handle, but once you get the hang of it , its ok.
The Tornado will take a hell of a lot of beating!! I also love the refueling, what a superb touch to what is already one of the best add ons!
Tornado is also great fun CFS3.

I am finding the FMC in 737NG hard work though, its taking a lot reading the manual to get to grips with it!

PMDG 736/7 is class. Will probably get the 747 when that comes out aswell!

Out of interest, what systems does everyone else use for this? I'm looking at buying it, but my PC is an entire 0.1Ghz below spec!

XP2700+, 512 Mb 333Mhz DDR and a ATi Radeon 9700.

The manual itself comes with some handy tips which apparently help reduce the drain the package has on your system. I've not tried it but, for example, there is an option inside the PMDG configuration software to reduce the accuracy of some of the gauges/displays. One such option is on the ND allowing the route and waypoints to be displayed right up to the edge of that particular screen - rather than having it only displayed within the compass rose (which apparently is more demanding).

Others include the more common option of optimizing the refresh rates of gauges.

Interestingly the minium system requirements in the manual I have (boxed edition) are:

PIII 800Mhz (Recommended 1.6Ghz)
256Mb RAM
32Mb Gfx card
340Mb HDD space

That's a little optimistic though IMO - and no one wants to run FS with everything turned off and the horizon set at 10nm.

As long as you aren't an idiot like me and have everything turned on, up and the sliders jammed hard to the right I think it might be alright.

P1300mhz, 1GB memory, 125mb ATI graphics card.

As speedbird said, as long as you dont bang everything up, you should be ok! Beware if you have anything like VFR scenery, as this can take a bit longer to load it all.

My only downer to 737NG is i am finding decents/approach hard work with the FMC.

My main gripe is the distinct lack of use made of the AIRAC cycles which seem to have resulted - certainly in my case - of very limited departures and approaches when a new cycle is installed, and I'm not a fan of adding a vast number of fixes to/from transitions

I also sometimes have a spot of bother slowing the aircraft down, although I think the managed descent feature from a point prior to reaching the original ToD is a nice point and has helped with the situation.
