REAL - WHR News 22/8/04 - K1 is alive!

Post by selsig »

A return to the very occasional news updates from me - the breaking news for today is that K1 has moved under its own steam for the first time since 1929 today.

Rear bogie was the only one to work today though, but they hope to try it with both bogies tomorrow.

Great, and long awaited, news

Wow, I hope someone gets a video recording of its movement, and even if it goes across the cob.

Todays news, hot from the roving reporter known as Bruce is that K1 is on the cob at this very moment (21.40ish) working on all 4 cylinders.

It is truly back in business

I would just like to say that the K1 made to trips across the cob on Friday night, the first was done at a relitively slow speed to check every thing was ok but the second was done at full line speed. Hope fully it will be leaving for dinas in the next few days.
