Class 166 driving instructions

Post by bristolian »

Hello, what are the correct instructions for applying and releasing the brakes on the Class 166 DMU? As far as I can tell, the combined power/brake handle goes from 100% through 0% to 100% using keys A & D. When wishing to slow down, I take key D down to 0%, but using key A to stop just applies more power. Where am I going wrong?? HELP!! :D Thanks, Bob.

Try the default braking keys:- ; & ' = Train

[ & ] = loco

Lemme know if they worked. :D

a combined powerhandle means once you go passed 0 when decelerating, the increase back to 100% is braking level....

Keep pressing D once you get to 0% and the the % will got to -%, which then applies the brakes. (Not an expert but I believe it represents the fore nd aft movement of the control stick in the real unit, where pushing one way applies power, pulling back reduces power and pulling back further starts the brake application).
