class 73

Post by sootyxfd »

hi all

just noticed lately that there are a lot of class 73s around at the minute not only on ukts but on the preserved scene, and all of a sudden they have become really expensive models to buy

anybody got any idea why ?

is it because a lot of railways are installing thrid rail ??? :D ???

its not that i dont like them tho

cheers

They're cheap, an abundance of them, and they have a good enough diesel engine for preserved line services. Shame they're ugly!

Its because EWS sold pretty much their entire fleet of 73s earlier this year, and a few have filted straight from EWS to preservationists, but most have gone into Booth Roe before being sold on or in the case of the churnet valleys, swapped

And also only Lima made class 73 models which since they have gone bust have gone up in value by at least £10-15 quid, with some lima 20s gettin rather stupid £100 +

Yes, as in 1960's condition, but now I find ( AFTER announcing mine I may add! ) that someone else happily begins one...nothing I can do to stop it, but may pull mine.

Take ten paces and draw your handbags.

Seriously though, there is room in this world for many good models. Lets have em all! :D
