e-mails or Forum?

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

e-mails or Forum?

Post by dforrest »

I often get queries by e-mail on activities I have written. I always feel like responding to them "Please post your query in the 'Activity Creation' forum and I will reply to you".

I think, firstly, that other users of the activity may have an answer to the problem when I have not, and secondly, that other users may benefit from the discussion.

What do others think on this?

im inclined to agree as well, although i dont object if people do want to mail me. Fortunately i dont get mailed often so I can live with it, but a post here is best - especially as I usually create a thread for that express purpose when i upload an activity.

I put an email address in each readme so that any users can get in touch if they have a query or perhaps want to send me money and expensive gifts.

Doesn't bother me one way or the other, although of course a lot more people can see and respond to a problem posted in the forums.

David - Well I have a problem with an activity you have written, namely "The Large & the Small" v2 for Bala4, but as you did not create the file which is causing the problem, I have e-mailed its author for help.

However, since you prefer, - The read-me file refers to other files required, including UKTS 1864 (Correct scale patch for Ffest Rly Goods Stock ), but it does not contain a ng wag file which is required for the activity - "ngempwdslt.wag" for "frwoodslt".

I am pleased that you feel it is your responsibility to stop me sending messages to Bill, so I look forward (with perhaps a little trepidation) to your response.

Thanks.

I also agree that comments/queries should be posted on the forums though with my Cambrian activity pack I uploaded at the begining of the week I did give my E-Mail address. Some problems may be easier sorted out by people who did not create the activities while some may be best sorted by the activity authors.
My nex activities will be ready soon, they will not feature my E-mail in the readme.

I am pleased to state that the file author has sent me a copy of the missing file, for which many thanks.

As I have said in another forum, I cannot comment on the activity as I do not have a copy of the Bala route but the file UKTS 1864 (Correct scale patch for Ffest Rly Goods Stock ) does not contain the required truescale files for the wooden slate wagons.
These are located in file UKTS 6626 (Truescale patch for FR wooden slate wagons)

Cheers

I have answered your other post but agree that here is the best place. The answer reads as follows:
As the author of the activity, I am confused. You state that it is "ngempwdslt.wag" which you have missing. This is on the Bala Hub V4 CD. Have you installed the stock from this?
