UKTS_4788_506 trial return trip.

Post by earwigo »

Hello,
I'm trying to obtain the stock for the above activity for the Woodhead route. The first loco I've tried to find is BR_Class44_44002, and I cannot find it!?
Could anyone let me know where I can find this 44, and the other required stock for this activity, please?
Many thanks.
Stuart.

Hi Stuart
I think 44002 is only on the mid east cd.
it does not help when this activty is just an .apk file, with no readme does it.

Hi Glyn,
Many thanks for your info. about the whereabouts of 44002.
I actually have Tim Court's CD, and when I installed the Mid East route, sure enough, there was 44002!
You have certyainly saved me lots of fruitless searching.
All best wishes and thanks again.
Stuart. :D

Hi Glyn,

Can you help me again? I now find that even though I have all the needed stock to run the activity, the computer stops with the error messages:

Craven105driver.eng and
craven105trailer.wag

I have downloaded all the Cravens units I can find on the site and installed them, but still I get the error messages.

Help....!!

I hope you may be able to help me again.

Many thanks.

Stuart. :(

Hello

After reading the above I take it it's not the one on the MidEast CD as you'll have that. And if it's none of the downloads from here, then I'm stumped too.

But... If you download RouteRiter from here and install it, you'll find it helps out no end with MSTS.

Select, the stock tab (I think it's called stock, second tab from left anyway) and then click on Check All Activities. RR will whir for a while and build a list of all the stock you have then check all your installed activities and consists against what's available.

Eventually you'll get a list of what's wrong and a table of consists with some (broken ones) in red.

Simply select a red consist and the stock will come up in the right-most column. Right-click on a red item of stock and you'll be given a list of possible engines (for eng files) or carriages and wagons (for wag files) that are on your machine to change them for.

As you've downloaded a bunch of Cravens, you should have a suitable alternative for it already installed.

And here endeth the first lesson.

Good luck and have fun.

Hi,
I have altered the .eng and the .wag files to ones already on 'the system', and Route Riter doesn't come up with any red now. When I run MSTS, however, I still get the following message:

Error reading from train database file - Trains\Trainset\Cravens105\Craven105trailer.wag

The other error messages no longer appear - just this one.
I wondered if there was any way of uninstalling the particular activity and associated files, in order to stop this annoying message?
Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Thanks.
Stuart.

There's probably a static consist along the route which is still the Craven that you haven't got.

In the Check activities part of RR again, if the "name of act".act section is red, click that to show what static consists are involved in the right hand column. Then just change those out as you did with the consists.

Unfortunately, removing all the consists associated with an activity is not that easy, but if you must, then use RR again to check consists, and after it's finished there's another button comes up. In the screen that is there is the option to get rid of all unused consists. Once you've deleted the activity file, run this and the Craven consist should show up (along with a bunch of others). Just move it away in case another activity needs it sometime.
