Iam interested in this freeware CD. please can somebody tell me a bit about the route. Also are their activities etc

Its a very nice route based in New Zealand....single track most of the way...highly detailed (in fact it needs a good machine to run it) and very advanced for its day.
However the next version...and very much superior route is called "Southrail" and is available on http://www.train-sim.com ...unfortunately they are fairly big downloads (11)...so you really need broadband.
But if you haven't seen this route...you will be blown away...its proberbly the best in the world?
